Being a Jedi Isn't All It's Cracked Up to Be: A Civil War Reenactment

Confused as to what a Jedi has to do with a Civil War Reenactment?   I can't promise it will make sense; it is my mind after all, but I'll do my best to take you from point A to point B.

In The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda gives Luke the following advice, "Do... or do not. There is no try."  It sounds very sagely and wise, but for me it is a frustrating reality.  I tend to be a perfectionist and that tendancy leads me to follow, "Do or do not. There is no try," very literally, in many situations, based upon my absurd perfectionist agenda.  Now if I was able to accept my list of "do not's", I doubt I would be writing this post.  My quandary is that I have equal difficulty in accepting either my "do not" list or falling short of my perfectionist agenda.  It's a bit like having the Mason-Dixon Line running through your personality.  I imagine little "try" soldiers fighting for my freedom to deviate from the perfectionist agenda; while little "perfectionist" soldiers try to assure everyone it's best for things to stay the way they are.  War is a bloody mess.  I'm just hoping to make it to the other side with as few battle scars as possible and all my limbs attached.
